After chairing the 2023 Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary Dallas‘ Fashion Show this past spring with all its working parts, Kim Quinn has shifted directions to juggling 2024 La Fiesta De Las Seis Banderas. And, boy, does it have a lot of committees, families and events leading up to the “Celebración De La Costa De España” black-tie presentation at the Hilton Anatole on Saturday, June 8, at the Hilton Anatole.

But it’s well worth the effort. Unlike the SAWA that supports the Salvation Army of North Texas, 2024 La Fiesta will provide funding for a number of organizations to the tune of a whopping $380,445.

This year’s beneficiaries include the following and their hopeful goals:

  • Highland Park Education Foundation – $100,000
  • HP Arts – $85,000
  • HP LitFest – $25,000
  • Friends of the Highland Park Library – $3,700
  • Connecting Point Park Cities – $24,070
  • Boys And Girls Club of Dallas – $6,000
  • Highland Park High School Student Council – $16,500
  • Highland Park High School Science And Technology Festival $21,000
  • CARE Dallas – $13,775
  • The Center for Integrative Counseling and Psychology – $14,900
  • The Moody Family YMCA/RISE School -$10,000
  • Dallas Heritage Village – $10,000
  • Highland Park High School Community Service Council $2,000
  • Highland Park High School Emergency Fund – $5,000
  • Friends of the UP Library – $20,000
  • To Be Like Me – $15,000
  • MIS/HPMS Raider Assistance Fund – $5,000
  • PC Tag – $3,000

Leading the rally for the fundraising are the likes of La Fiesta Co-Chair Kay Herring and Courtney Wiles, Individual Underwriting Co-Chairs Paige Sachs and Laura Thompson and Corporate Underwriting Co-Chairs Meg Salter and Vanessa Sloan, plus dozens and dozens of committee members.
