Those designing folks have created plans for the third annual Impact Dallas Gala. Presented by Page and Schmidt & Stacy Consulting Engineers Inc., the Dallas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Dallas) and the Architecture and Design Foundation will host the black-tie fundraiser on Thursday, November 9, at The Thompson Hotel.
At the fundraiser the recipients of the AD EX Community Cornerstone Award will be announced and the AIA Dallas Lifetime Achievement Awardee will be recognized.

Co-Chairs Shelley Potter, ASLA, and Jeff Potter, FAIA, have announced the finalists for this year’s AD EX Community Cornerstone Award are Brother Bill’s Helping Hand, For Oak Cliff and Pastor Vincent T. Parker.

The AIA Dallas Lifetime Achievement Award has already been revealed to be Oak Cliff-based DSGN Associates President Bob Meckfessel (FAIA).

According to AIA Dallas/ Foundation Executive Director Zaida Basora (FAIA), “At the Impact Dallas Gala, the Foundation is proud to honor the architects and visionaries that contribute to the richness of the built environment in Dallas communities. And, to support those working to transform the places we live, work, and play in ways that will improve the lives of our city’s residents and future generations.”
In addition to the presentation of awards and a pre-dinner reception for the evening’s honorees, host community members and sponsors, the evening will include an open bar, passed hors d’oeuvres, a three-course dinner, a silent auction and music by Emerald City.
Funds raised from the event will support the Foundation’s community projects, provide scholarships to increase access to architecture education and host year-round public programs, tours, camps and exhibitions for all ages.
Sponsorships range from $2,500 to $15,000 and are available here. A waitlist is currently in place here for individual tickets.
