Back in August, the North Texas Food Bank opted to postpone its Harvest fundraiser set for Saturday, September 11, for a couple of reason. First of all, the priority of the staff and volunteers was to provide 125.6M meals for kids, seniors and families in need during its past fiscal year.

Second, due the pandemic restrictions a major in-person event just wasn’t gonna happen.

As North Texas Food Bank CEO/President Trisha Cunningham put it, While we are saddened to postpone our 40th anniversary commemorative event, we feel this is the most appropriate and respectful way to honor our neighbors, health care workers, and fellow community.”

The new date of Saturday, February 19, for Harvest is in place to kick off the North Texas Food Bank’s 40th anniversary of serving the community.

To add to the importance of the occasion, the traditional graze-around, casual chic fundraiser that has taken place as such venues as the Arboretum and Dallas Farmers Market has been dressed up to be a black tie seated supper with NTFB Co-Founder Kathryn Hall and her husband Craig Hall as co-chairs and Honorary Co-Chair/NTFB Co-Founder Liz Minyard.

To make the occasion, they’ve arrange to have Feeding American CEO/SMU Dedman School of Law graduate Claire Babineaux-Fontenot as the evening’s speaker.

Insiders have sent word that 25 tables are still available. And there’s a bonus for those who sign up as patrons. There will be a patron party in the days leading up to the big night.

And, of course, organizers are closely monitoring both CDC and State guidelines regarding COVID-19 and will adjust accordingly for the wellbeing of guests and staff members.
